These table accessories, aptly named the Laponian Family, are the brainchild of designer Karolin Larsson. The Laponian Family is a collection of holders for candles and energy-efficient LEDs, which can also be used as wine coolers or snack containers. The collection's versatility is its strength, offering infinite possibilities for use and arrangement.

The design was inspired by the Nordic nature, known for its raw beauty and resilience. Larsson aimed to capture this spirit in her design, resulting in a collection that is not only visually appealing but also durable and easy to clean. The Laponian Family is made using a variety of materials, including glass with painted frosting, crystal with painted frosting, polished stainless steel, and ABS for the LED plug attachment. Each material was chosen for its durability and ease of cleaning, making the products suitable for professional use in the HoReCa sector.

The design process was not without its challenges. The project started in February 2020 in Malmo, Sweden, and was completed in December 2021, amidst the global pandemic. Despite the difficulties of working digitally with the factory during the development phase, the team managed to create a product that is both innovative and practical.

The Laponian Family was recognized for its outstanding design and innovation, winning the Silver A' Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate exceptional creativity, technical expertise, and innovation. The Laponian Family certainly fits this description, offering a unique solution to table accessory design that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
